What I Ate Wednesday

One of my favorite staples of the food blogging world is What I Ate Wednesday -- in a nutshell, it's a fabulous little (well, not so little anymore!) potluck organized by the lovely Jenn over at Peas & Crayons.  It's a great way to celebrate the fact that it's Wednesday -- only two more days until the weekend (*does happy dance*) -- and since I haven't done a WIAW in ages, it's great to be back!

So, without further ado...

As soon as I get up, I have a big mug of organic chai (and right now, I get consistently giddy over the fact that Target sells pumpkin spice chai -- AAAAH!  It's made by Twinings, a British tea company, so I figure that between Monty Python and pumpkin spice chai, the Brits have ensured that I'll have a lifetime of happiness.)

Post-workout breakfast: a purple haze smoothie made with a banana, frozen blueberries, vega protein powder, and almond milk.

Lunch + snacks:  Apple; apple-spice muffin; salad with quinoa, chickpeas, and home-made balsamic herb vinaigrette; carrots, celery, and hummus; chopped cantaloupe.

Dinner: Middle Eastern soup with lentils, rice, kale, and chicken.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Wednesday and that the rest of the week flies by!  (Now I have "Everybody's Workin' for the Weekend" stuck in my head.  Gah.)
